Quiz Master bot

Overview

The Quiz Master bot is a Discord bot that lets you host engaging quizzes within your community. This page provides a step-by-step guide to setting up the bot and hosting your first quiz.

Prerequisites

A Discord server where you have the "Manage Channels" permission. For more information, see Discord's Setting Up Permissions FAQ.

Steps

Step 1. Add the bot to your Discord server

Add the Quiz Master bot to your Discord server by clicking the Quiz Master bot link.
Select the server where you want to add the bot, then click Continue.
Review the permissions that the bot needs, then click Authorize.

Step 2. Host your first quiz

To start a quiz, type /quiz in the channel where you want to host the quiz, then fill in the required information:
- question: the question you want to ask.
- answer_a, answer_b, answer_c, answer_d: the different answer choices.
- correct_answer: the correct answer choice among as A, B, C, or D.
- timeout: the time limit for answering the question in minutes.
Optionally, add the following details:
- prize: the prize for the winners in plain text. Leave it blank if you don't want to offer a prize.
- number_prizes: the number of winners you want to have. The default is 0 meaning unlimited winners. This requires the prize field to be set.
- image: upload any image you want to include in the quiz. This can be a banner or some other CTA image.
- color: set the color of the side border of the quiz. Choose from Mystic Purple, Origin Red, Agagmo Pink, or Random.
The bot then creates the quiz and posts it in the channel.
Anyone can answer the question by selecting the corresponding emoji.
After the participant submits their answer, the bot notifies them.
As the quiz host, you can view the quiz stats by clicking the right-most emoji.
The quiz ends when either the set time runs out or the number of winners is reached. The bot then updates the original post and announces the correct answer and the winners.
